Traditionally known for its expertise in industrial air treatment, AIRPLAN expanded its activity to the Life-Science sector to provide turnkey solutions in pharmaceutical infrastructure and biotechnology process solutions. It is this last niche that is growing most.
This expansion saw 2022 close with the procurement of new projects for a record amount just north of €30M, a 20+% rise in the workforce and the need to invest in new facilities in El Pont de Vilomara for an initial figure of over €1.5M which will be greatly increased by the purchase of machinery and the fitting out of the facilities.
The acquired property has an area of 9,200 m2, supplementing the 5,500 m2 of the Sant Fruitós de Bages facilities. The new space, featuring a 1,200 m2 industrial warehouse and 600 m2 of offices, will focus the design, assembly and operating tests of the process lines in a more modern, open-plan environment ready for the activities it will concentrate on, which we hope will deliver a complete customer and staff experience.
“With the purchase of this new production space we are ready to adapt to the recent growth of the Process Business division and at the same time continue to grow,” said AIRPLAN chief executive Josep Ferrer. “By contrast, the current site will focus exclusively on the cleanroom infrastructure and special sterile-air solutions business.”
